First Post For Year 2009

First of all, Happy New Year to everyone! No “routine” flash back for 2008 this time as I am sick of viewing most of others’ blog entries about that recently. I guess some of you might have the same feeling too.(Sorry, I am not trying to insult anyone out there!). Instead of looking back, let’s move forward to face the new 2009!

Glad to kick off my first entry this year by highly recommending anyone here to grab your ticket to cinema and enjoy this inspiring movies, “Seven Pounds“.

It is such another inspiring yet meaningful movie by Will Smith after the shooting of “The Pursuit of Happiness” in year 2006. Will Smith has been my all times favorite Hollywood Star. Cant hardly miss any film featuring him. “Seven Pounds” would draw your breath or won your tears I bet. This movie is about how Will Smith giving life to 7 other strangers by trading off his own life and how he get to that point after a tragedy happened to him. Some thought come out from my mind after this movie,” There are more meaningful things for us to do in our life before it was too late, right?”. And it might be a good inspiring movie at this moment where street talk or any kopitiam talk or even in your little chatting box in ym or msn is all about the great economy recession, bad market recently.

Do cherish your days and have a good year 2009 ahead! Oh ya, looking forward for viewing another my all time favorite star, Jim Carrey in “Yes Man”. These two actors are always top in my list!

Season of Loneliness (寂寞的季节)

It is undeniable that autumn is my favorite season among the others. The weather is just nice and the scenery is just so fabulous with reddish, yellowish trees and so do the fall leaves on the floor. It will be good if someone important beside you if not the atmosphere of autumn will make you feel so lonely..especially when the wind start blowing….just as the song composed by David Tao, 寂寞的季节…..

Some Shootout of my 2nd autumn days in Korea

Next..hold your breadth as you will be going to see I am posing!!!

And….Proudly Present you this boyz”2″man group!

So that’s all about autumn here…let’s end this with a JUMP!

My First Skiing Experience @Phoenix Park, South Korea - Part II

Sorry for leaving the post abandon quite some times..

Some video taken during my skiing session…enjoy…and you can laugh of course.

1.First video, I was trying to start moving…holding the poles and wearing boots..and the ski first time in my life! (I was not moving at all…boooo)

2. Second video, my first trial…it worked..and I did not fall. But my posture looked damn disgusting…after the first trial…I like it and keep trying….

3.Third video, Just to tell you falling down not really hurting me at this point.

4. Fourth video, skiing in the night session..and everything was fine.

Just after about 4 hours of self learning skiing…My friends persuaded me to take the lift and ski down the hills…and…As you can see..this was the slope we challenge, the lift I was saying might be too small to be seen from the picture. So basically, we “ski” down from the Starting point to the ending point. ” “ meant something in paragraph rite?haha….the slope was quite deep and we were actually falling down from the Starting point till the Ending point. It was too fast and too scary when we tried that and bear in mind that we did not take any course and the lessons were all learnt from youtube….To slow up ourselves, the only way was to fall down. And I can proudly tell you that I have tried any kind of the falling position throughout the “journey” like what you can see in a movie.Haha….and this time, falling down really meant something. Our whole body were aching and some bruise on our legs and buttocks in the following night..

So here are the 4 warriors…

From the left, Chun Wei, Chee Min, Yushu and Me…

Overall, I did enjoy skiing and falling these times. But my advice to all, is better to get a short course for your first time as it was really dangerous when I think back.

Oh ya..the boots were quite heavy but quite similar to our platoon boots where most of my secondary school St John Friends might experience before.

It was really nice to ski and I wish I could plan and have more chance to do that.

My First Skiing Experience @Phoenix Park, South Korea - Part I

Attended a conference last month which held in a Ski resort, Phoenix Park. Therefore, had my first skiing experience to share it here.

The day before the presentation…On the ski resort with some people skiing behind.

I was doing my presentation on ICACT 2008.

However, just after I did my presentation…Hoho…time for the main purpose for submitting research paper for this conference.

Equipped myself with poles,boots,ski..and saw my glass?I bought it just for skiing.

Another snapshot..

5 of us who joined the trip this time..skiing in the night

And Miss Nithia, who taught me one subject during my Bachelor Degree in MMU.She came all the way from my Malaysia for the conference.

Eventually, this resort was also the shooting place for Korean Drama, Endless Love.

Poster from the drama..

Story board from the drama..

and actors and actress from the drama….

Some scene..

This resort was nice and beautiful.

Scenery thru the windows of our room.

That’s all for now..will upload more photos and videos as well on the next post to share my skiing experience.

To be continued….

Korea National Treasure - Namdaemun Ruin

I was on my way back from Malaysia to South Korea after the Chinese New Year vacation, I was tiring after 7 hours on flight with our beloved MAS. Upon reaching Seoul, I took a bus. To my surprised, the tv on the bus was reporting news on the above tragedy. That was it, Sungnyemun or better well known with the name of Namdaemun which apparently one of the tourist spot aka the Korea national treasure ruin after a fire hit on the night before. Not going to talk about the history of it as I think Wiki-Namdaemun does that better if anyone of you are interested.

I passed by the spot and manage to snap some pictures of it.

Before the fire….

After….

Sadly..I havent really stand on the ground and take a photo with the old gate as my friends and I thought that there were nothing for us to do there on our visits to Seoul as it was just a gate but now I have no more chance to do that.

And up to today, the arson suspect was caught by the police. Wondering why he did that……

Say bye bye to the 610 years old monument..Rest In Peace!!!

New Year,New Hair Style

Decided to cut my hair short last week. Therefore I walked down to a nearby shop with CheeMin for a hair cut. As usual, having communication problem talking to the hair stylist with my limited Korean Language. So?Just look at the photo available and point it out the style I want. And here is the result…

So how was it? Anyway..let’s treat it as a head start for this new year, 2008. More challenges are awaiting me and I have listed down the most important one below:

For 2008

1. Complete my Master thesis due November 2008.

2. Hopefully can get CCNP by the end of this year.

3. Put my very effort to keep maintaining my long distance relationship with my girl.

These will be my challenges tentatively for this new year. Wish me luck and bless me!
